What a treat! I'm getting the satin sheets all dusty this week with much loved rural romance author and general all round amazing lady, Racheal Johns. So plump up your pillow, snuggle up with us as we get down and dirty in bed with Rachael Johns, author of OUTBACK GHOST.
Welcome to the boudoir Rachael.
I’ve been eating a lot of chocolate lately, following the excellent advice of Professor Lupin (from Harry Potter) who recommends chocolate to remedy an encounter with a Dementor. Because lately it feels like the world is fairly bursting at the seams with those nasty joy suckers.
Title: Untamed
Author: Anna Cowan
Genre: Romance
Publisher: Penguin Destiny
I’ve arrived late to this party - which isn’t uncommon for me, I feel like I’m always playing catch up on the books everybody else read ages ago – but now I’m here I have to declare what a terrific book Untamed is.
I think you're all familiar with the setting by now - the drawn curtains, the lit candles and saxophone in the background. So let's get cosy under the covers and snuggle up In Bed With Alli Sinclair, author of recently released Luna Tango. Welcome to the boudoir, Alli.
You're an avid reader and writer of romance stories. What’s the hardest thing about writing a romantic sexual relationship into a story?
A few weeks ago I received a surprise invitation to an unusual event. Naked Girls Reading. Was it a strip show with books? Was it a clever literary irony for a book launch? Was it a tongue in cheek feminist attempt to bare all that is wrong with the male dominated meritocracy in Australian publishing? Kinda, yes - on all accounts.
I received a letter the other day from an older woman, a mother and grandmother, expressing her disappointment at the ‘explicit descriptions of sensual activities’ in my book, The Yearning. Apparently she had picked it up in a library and was surprised at how a book with such sexual content got into a public arena where young ones could read it.
You're going to need a little bit of courage for today's In Bed With because we are snuggling up with a prolific and quirky author of spacey sci-fi and paranormal erotic romance. Welcome to Imogene Nix, author of Reunion – The Assassin, Reunion – Executing Justice and Sex, Love & Aliens (Lordy, what a combination!) due out in October. Make yourself comfortable, Imogene.
Having returned on a high from the annual Australian Romance Writers Conference I wanted to write a post that captured the essence of the event. But how to give it the credit it's due? Most people think romance is all gushy and fluffy hearts and flowers. Yet this conference is the largest professional event focusing on the craft of writing in our wide, brown land. It attracts nearly 390 delegates over four days, provides pitching opportunities to new and established writers, and a to-die-for social calendar and let's not mention the outrageous costumes at the cocktail party!
The curtains are drawn, the candles lit and slow saxophone plays in the background. The cushions are plumped and the velvet cover is pulled back to reveal someone under black satin sheets. Snuggle up because today we are in bed with Jennifer Lynne, author of Demon of Envy, the latest novella in Jennifer's popular Gods of Love series.
K: Welcome to the boudoir Jennifer.
J: Thanks for having me to visit, Kate!
