The curtains are drawn, the candles lit and slow saxophone plays in the background. The cushions are plumped and the velvet cover is pulled back to reveal someone under black satin sheets. Snuggle up because today we are in bed with Bianca Sarble, author of Operation: Sexy Soldier.
Welcome to the boudoir Bianca. We’ll start easy with a couple of questions about your writing.
What’s the hardest thing about writing a romantic sexual relationship into a story?
I’d say trying to find the balance of real life and fantasy with the sexual relationship. Life is never smooth sailing, but in our world of romance novels, it runs more smoothly than usual - most of the time. Things like erectile dysfunction are left for the cheating scumbag ex, contraception magically appears at just the right time and any…uncomfortable…medical conditions rarely occur. One things for sure, my pregnancies would have been a lot smoother in romance land!
(K: Amen to that! If we could only rewrite the pain...)
When it comes to sex scenes in your work, how far are you willing to take your readers into the bedroom (or boardroom, or elevator...) and why?
All the way. Whether my characters are under the covers, against the wall or in a public place, the reader will be right there with them.
One of the things I love reading is the emotional connection between our hero/heroine, hero/heroine/hero, hero/hero, heroine/heroine – whichever configuration it happens to be. Riding the cloud touching highs and the extreme lows on their journey of love is the biggest gateway an author can give us to float away to another world. The sexual element is a big part of any relationship, and so in my writing I like to include it as part of the peaks and valleys of my stories. It also gives more relevance to my stories so the reader can connect with the story and identify with my characters.
Plus, who doesn’t want to read about multiple orgasms and alpha men with fantasy inducing talents ;).
(K: Did somebody mention multiple orgasms? I'm so there!)
Tell us about your first kiss – where did it happen and what was it like?
At a rodeo, leaning against a stable door with a bona fide cowboy.
And yes, it lived up to the hype.
(K: Okay, now I'm jealous. Always wanted to kiss a bona fide cowboy up against a stable door)
Have you ever had a lover who changed you or taught you something new about yourself, a lover who made a difference in your life?
After nearly 12 years together, my DH and I are certainly not the same people we were when we met, so he qualifies for all of the above. He changed my understanding about what love is, challenges me to grow as an individual as well as his other half.
(K: Aha! The secret to true love is letting your partner grow. Lucky you, he sounds like a keeper)
Leather or lace or? What would be your favourite fantasy undergarment to wear in the boudoir and why?
Definitely leather. Although lace has the added bonus of being easily torn in the heat of the moment, leather is more versatile ;)
(K: Yeah, good luck ripping that leather g-string off - YOWCH!)
About Bianca Sarble
Once upon a time, in a land called Australia, there lived a delightful young girl named Bianca who loved to read. As she grew older, her sarcastic tendencies and warped sense of humour became evident, as did her preference for raunchy romances. Now, as well as reigning over their 1/4 acre kingdom with the handsome Prince that stole her heart and feeding their ever-growing children, she not only reads everything she can, but pens her own deliciously sexy stories.

Operation: Sexy Soldier
A dare is a dare after all.
Suzette Miller’s mission, issued by fellow members of the Naughty Whispers Book Club, is one she can’t refuse. She must find a sexy soldier and burn up the sheets in a night of scorching passion. It’s been her fantasy since forever, but what if her military man is also the man who can break her run of bad luck in the dating world?
As a Marine, Zane Cooper can handle intense situations. But when it comes to Suzette, and the lingering feelings she inspires, he’s in unfamiliar territory without a tactical handbook. Though his life’s compass is spinning out of control, the right direction could be closer than he thinks.
Drawn together by lust and pulled apart by assumptions, can they work together to complete their mission for love?
